We resume our Friday Night Alternative Shabbes events with a presentation for Holocaust Education Week by community organizer and educator, Arielle Sugarman. They will discuss the history of the treatment of Disabled people in Europe, making connections made between Disabled folks and Jews who were both seen in terms based in "race science," eugenics, and ableism — and how this kind of thinking continues to inform racist and ableist norms today.

The KAIROS Blanket Exercise is an interactive learning experience that teaches the Indigenous rights history we’re rarely taught. Developed in response to the 1996 Report of the Royal Commission on Aboriginal Peoples, the Blanket Exercise covers over 500 years of history in a one and a half hour participatory workshop.
